What I Believe

These are my core beliefs that form the worldview I write from.

  • There is one God, eternally existing in the three Persons of the Trinity: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1).
  • God created humans, male and female, in His image. Humans are intrinsically different from animals, human life begins at conception, and every life is valuable (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:13-16).
  • Everyone has sinned and deserves God’s eternal punishment (Romans 3:23).
  • God created the world perfect, but when mankind sinned, the creation was marred, and sickness, suffering, and death entered (Genesis 1-3, Romans 8:22).
  • Jesus is the Son of God and God made flesh. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose again the third day to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Galatians 4:4-5).
  • Jesus is the only way of salvation (John 14:6, Acts 4:12).
  • Salvation is a free gift given to all who believe (John 1:12, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • Death is not the end for the believer, but only brings us into the presence of God (John 11:25, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14).
  • The Bible, in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, authoritative, infallible Word of God and the ultimate standard of right and wrong (1 Timothy 3:16-17).
  • One day, Jesus is coming back to set all things right (Revelation 21-22).
